Who can see my cooks? How do I control what's public?

When you mark a recipe as cooked and add a photo or a review, other members can see them on that recipe's page. If your profile is followable, they may also appear on the Home tab for people who follow you and for the wider community. Your name and profile photo appear alongside.

Notes come in two kinds, and only one is public:

• Share your experience is the public note: your review, tips, and suggestions for other cooks.
• Notes to self stays private. Only you can see these.

Your name. The first time you open the Home tab, CookShelf asks how you'd like your name to appear. You can change it anytime: open your profile, tap the edit pencil, and update your display name.

Your profile shows your name and photo, how many books and recipes are on your shelf, your followers and following, your recent cooks, and your top books. Your bio and links appear if you added them, and your bookmark lists appear only if you've made the lists public.

Prefer to keep to yourself? Turn on "Make my profile unfollowable" in Settings, under Privacy. People won't be able to follow you or find you in search, your cooks won't appear on Home, and any current followers are removed. Photos and reviews you've already shared may still appear on book and recipe pages. You can turn it off again whenever you like.
