What do I do if my book's barcode isn't recognized, or if my book doesn't have a barcode?

If the barcode isn't scanning: Try searching for the book by title in the app instead. Tap the search icon on the "Add books" screen and type in the title or author name. This often finds books that the barcode scanner misses.

If your book doesn't have a barcode: Many vintage cookbooks, self-published books, and international editions don't have barcodes. You can still search for them by title in our catalog. If the book shows up, you can add it to your shelf from there.

If the book isn't in our catalog at all: Send us a message with as much detail as you can – title, author, ISBN, and year of publication are the most helpful.

We have nearly 15,000 cookbooks indexed and many more in our catalog, but there are always more to add. Every request helps us know what to prioritize.
